No amount of highlighter sits well on skin that has not been looked after. This is where you start.
I have always been the kind of person who gives things away. Like, I once handed a duck tie to my goofy office colleague because he was born to wear it. This boutique works the same way. I find the good stuff and pass it on. The right advice for your skin, no generic prescriptions! Just things that were always meant for you.
Hey, I’m Melissa Powell! To sum myself up, I am someone who notices things. Like how a good serum seeps into dry winter skin like it was always meant to be there. Or how kohl smudged under the eye at the end of a long day somehow looks more right than it did freshly applied. And how the fruit blush moment was never really about the trend, it was about learning to work with what your face already has going on.
So, I started this space: because I wanted to have these conversations I could not find anywhere else. Conversations about the guilt, the rituals, the performance tax of just existing in a body that the world has opinions about.
Everything here is something I would pull you aside to yap about. Consider this blog as me pulling you aside. (Want to know more about who is behind all this? The ‘About Me’ page has the full story.)

My blog is for the things that nobody says out loud. It’s also about how a smidge of highlighter can change the entire energy of your face, and so can drinking enough water. Both matter. And neither should cost you a guilt spiral in the grocery aisle.
Womanhood comes loaded with a performance tax nobody agreed to, but everyone pays. This space exists because I got tired of feeling behind on all of it. No perfect routines, and no added pressure. Just honest tête-à-tête about the small things that actually move the needle, from what you put on your skin to what you put in your body, and everything the beauty industry forgot to mention.
